About the Role

Giant Noise is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant to play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and operational integrity of our organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will own key accounting processes, lead the monthly close, and help strengthen internal controls and reporting systems across the agency.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and enjoys balancing precision with process improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Finance, HR, and Leadership.
 

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and all balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, prepaids, and accrued liabilities.
  • In partnership with the CFO, lead and manage the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Develop, document, and strengthen internal accounting controls and procedures to ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation.
  • Identify financial process risks and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Financial Systems & Process Improvement

  • Ensure accurate expense tracking and reimbursement processes, improving policies for clarity and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of financial systems and expense management tools.
  • Maintain the integrity of accounting data within QuickBooks Online and related systems.

Team Leadership

  • Provide oversight and direction to accounting support staff (internal and/or outsourced), ensuring accuracy, accountability, and timely completion of financial tasks.
  • Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, and transactional work prepared by support personnel.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight

  • Oversee all accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing, accurate coding, and proper documentation.
  • Review vendor setup, W-9 collection, 1099 reporting, and client invoicing for compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and partner with leadership to support collections and cash flow management.

Payroll Administration

  • Manage and process payroll using Paylocity, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure accurate tax withholdings, benefits deductions, wage adjustments, and time tracking reconciliation.
  • Maintain payroll records and support reporting, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Partner with HR to ensure accurate employee classifications, compensation updates, and benefits coordination.

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including accrual accounting, payroll administration, cash flow management, and oversight of AP/AR functions.
  • Experience administering Ramp (or similar expense management platforms), including corporate card management and expense reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in an agency, marketing, PR, or creative environment is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and internal financial controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
